I’ve been exploring the Pacific Coast here for decades, in every season. I’ve learned many of it’s hidden stories: of the people who’ve lived here thousands of years, and more recent visitors; great planetary forces at work beneath our feet and overhead, vast migrations of life passing in the air and sea; carpets of wildflowers and amazing wildlife. The guide brings all those into view too, not just the magnificent vistas and destinations. Wonders are here to enjoy for an afternoon, a weekend or an entire week.

The Pacific Ocean right next door keeps the coast cooler by 10 to 20 degrees or more than inland. There can be fog any time of year, and sea winds whip cool and strong at times. Bring layers to put on as you discover what the weather brings.
